How to Use DNFileVault

Purchases

When you purchase access to files, you'll see them in your Dashboard under "My Purchases". Each purchase typically has a download period (usually 30 days) during which you can download the files.

Accessing Your Purchases:

  1. Log in to your DNFileVault account
  2. Go to your Dashboard
  3. Click on any purchase in the "My Purchases" section
  4. You'll see a list of files available for that purchase
  5. Click the Download button next to any file to download it

Note: Purchases have expiration dates. Make sure to download your files before the expiration date. You can view the expiration date on your dashboard or in your purchase details.

Group Memberships

Group memberships provide access to shared files. When you're added to a group, you automatically gain access to all files in that group. Group memberships may have expiration dates or be permanent, depending on how they were set up.

Accessing Group Files:

  1. Log in to your DNFileVault account
  2. Go to your Dashboard
  3. Find the "My Groups" section
  4. Click on any group you're a member of
  5. You'll see all files available to that group
  6. Click the Download button next to any file to download it

Viewing Membership Expiration:

  • Go to your Profile page
  • Scroll down to the "Group Memberships" section
  • You'll see all groups you belong to, along with their expiration dates (if any)
  • Memberships marked as "Permanent" have no expiration date

Note: If your group membership expires, you'll lose access to the group's files. Contact support if you need to renew your membership or have questions about expiration dates.

Automated Downloads via API

DNFileVault provides an API that allows you to automate file downloads. This is especially useful for downloading files on a schedule or integrating DNFileVault into your workflows.

Note: DNFileVault does not use a long-term API key. You authenticate by logging in to receive a temporary JWT access token, which you include in API requests.

Getting Started with the API:

  • Login via the API to receive a temporary JWT access token
  • Use the token to authenticate API requests
  • List your purchases or groups via the API
  • Download files programmatically using the API endpoints
